This delightful porcelain chest; retains its original padded silk interior, stands on ball feet and is complete with ring handles. Each rim is finished with metal banding, whilst the lid additionally has a small effective catch, engaging with the lower rim. The lid has an engaging portrayal of three figures; one of which is pushing a wheel barrow, another digging with a spade, whilst the third, a lady, engages all their interest. The body of the chest is predominantly finished in aquamarine, interspersed with small arrangements of blossom and leaves

Condition IconCondition
Condition is largely good; the metalwork is strong and complete, the catch is strong and works well. The gilt margin to the lid has some wear (see photographs) whilst the porcelain has no discernible chips, cracks, losses or significant defects. As with most pieces of this age and construction, the seating of the ceramic into the base frame is not without the occasional tiny nibble. That said, this particular example is much, much better than many we have seen. Please do make time to review all of the pictures to gain a full appreciation of the item and its condition.
