Item Details
A trio of antique lace irons comprising a ferrous metal 'Sad' No1 iron from J&J Siddon and a lovely pair of unmarked brass 7.5 x 5cm irons. 'Sad' is a term adopted in several branches of manufacturing and engineering where it describes items that are both solid and robust. In this case it is used to emphasise the solidity of a small flat iron made of brass.
Joseph & Jesse Siddons is a well established Iron and Steel foundry based in West Bromwich, where it has been since 1846.
