Item Details
This charming dish bears the mark of Hung Chong & Co. placing it at; Shanghai, circa 1880-1925. The base in white metal, typically presents an exotic confection of dragon, fish and mystical creature like attributes, brought together and presented with all the aplomb of a talented and dedicated artist. The four segment tail is executed beautifully and provides a flourish to the underside of the shell.
The circular base on which the sea waves sit, carries the linear rectangle containing the 'Hung Chong & Co' mark and is accompanied by a vertical array of oriental characters in a separate rectangular containment.
