This is a fine, antique Edwardian English sterling silver photograph frame in the best tradition of the Art Nouveau movement.
The hallmarked silver frontispiece is characteristically sinuous, with embossed decoration, yet relatively simple, leaving the complexity of the recently ended Victorian era long behind.
The frame is finished in a pale turquoise hand dyed velvet which is augmented with contrasting fabric linings to the interior photograph plate and the interior face of the easel back. Original period 'frame furniture' has been used wherever possible.

ConditionThe frame, structure and fabrics are all in good condition, and ready to see out another extended period of solid service. The silver is largely in good condition, although it does has a couple of significant impact marks to the bottom right hand corner (see photographs), and a few small dinks to the face. The original glass is in good condition with no scratching or chips.
