Antique Silver Photo Frame with Renewed Hand Dyed Velvet

Are you looking for a photograph frame that reflects a lifetime spanning the last 105 years and yet has a look that is both traditional and contemporary? If you are, consider this lovely frame. We have carried out a sympathetic restoration to see whether there is another lifetime this simple frame can embark on. The silver is largely untouched, although it has been cleaned without anything other than 'elbow grease and a touch of Silvo, other cleaners are available (sic)! Consequently it does look a little careworn, has dinks and a small split to the bottom right hand corner (see photographs). All that said, the; - wood frame has been clean stabilised & consolidated - velvet has been renewed throughout, as has the silk - the easel back has been similarly restored and secured - the silver frontispiece has been re-pinned to the frame face - hinges have been cleaned and are serviceable and the - ribbon stay has been replaced. - new glass fitted Overall this frame has an authentic charm that belies its age, but can still provide a safe haven for photographs up to 95 x 135mm.
