Item Details
Adie & Lovekin’s pig pin-cushion, whilst not as iconic as the Sampson Mordan ‘hatching chick’, is probably as well known and likely more widely collected given the number of ‘pig fans’, particularly in the UK.
Unlike many of the versions, this pig has holes to the top of the head to enable fabric or leather ears to provide the final flourish. We have seized this opportunity and used red leather to make the ears and compliment the red velvet pad of the pin cushion.

Condition is good with some dinks and surface scratching commensurate with age and use. Each flank bears an inscription of ‘1880 – 1905’. The pig was a vacant shell when we saved it, but it is now dressed in a coat of hand dyed, deep red velvet, surrounding the well stuffed cushion.
