Antique Silver & Tortoiseshell Trinket or Jewellery Box

Here we have a delightful tactile circular antique tortoiseshell and silver jewellery or trinket box. It was made and assayed in Birmingham by Deakin & Francis Ltd in 1919-20. The feet are designed as hoofs. The interior has been fully restored using a soft pink silk for the interior, with a complementary pink velvet where a harder wearing fabric is required. Other fitments include a brown leather dust cover to the underside and cushioning to the floor of the interior compartment, to reduce contact between items therein.
