Item Details
A very usable and aesthetically pleasing teapot stand.
This overlaid glass tea pot stand is by Docker & Burn, dating to 1924 it emanates from the jewellery quarter of Birmingham and is decorative as well as strong in utility.
Fully hallmarked, it is in good condition though it has the scratching commensurate with its age and use as you would expect..
As with most of these type of pot stands, the silver is of a very good gauge, remaining strong even after almost 100 years of use. However, as with many, the silver overlay is inclined to lift slightly as a result of expanding and contracting with direst heat, leaving both the original adhesive and subsequent 'additions' visible below the silver. That said it is still a very decorative and functional item despite this obvious 'occupational hazard'.
A full set of hallmarks are clearly visible on the upper rim and are all easily readable.

Please do make time to review all of the pictures to gain a full appreciation of the item and its condition. Should you have any other questions in respect of either the item or its condition, please contact us and we will be pleased to assist wherever possible.
Please be aware that the silver may rise in the centre of tea pot stands as a result of expansion and contraction due to heat and cooling.
Helpful Hints: As the tea pot tends to be a fixture on most stands I would suggest letting the metal expand and contract as necessary and just be careful not to catch any sharp points with a cloth.
