A late nineteenth, early 20th century Arts & Crafts "Princes Plate" kettle or tea pot on stand.
A delightful Mappin & Webb interpretation of Christopher Dresser and the Arts & Crafts movement's original design.
The fixed handle is inset with an ebonized section, the stand with integral burner.
The underside is marked Mappin & Webb Princes Plate London & Sheffield W8596".

Overall condition is good with some very light surface scratching. There are one or two small patches of light silver wear around the upper circumference and a very small dink (< 2mm).
Condition is otherwise better than most items of a similar age and composition.
There is and engraved monogram (17mm in circumference to the upper surface) of the letter 'S' contained in a depiction of a 'buckled belt'.
The burner has not been tested and will need servicing or replacement.
