Jade Handled Page Marker with Later Wooden Blade

Here we have a small jade handled page marker believed to be originally from China in the second half of the 19th century. Unmarked, the silver collar is stylistically similar to other bands from the period, but also resembles some Japanese references seen elsewhere. The original wooden blade was very badly damaged and not salvagable. Consequently a similar colour oiled wood approximating to the size and shape of the assembled bits has been used to provide a similar look.
