Sterling Silver Plectrum Case - by Horace Woodward and Co Ltd - Birmingham 1915

Ref: P3 - 12
Sold
First things first, this delightful engine turned sterling silver case was not designed as a plectrum case (yes really). However, with cigarette smoking becoming a diminishing pursuit, why can’t this cigarette case be one of the nicest gifts a guitarist will ever receive? Even without any personalisation you may care to make; perhaps a felt liner, or a series of small pockets, even a small sewn purse? the fact is just naked this pleasingly small curved case could be full of plectra (is that the plural of a plectrum?). This is a delightful case that really can’t be surpassed as either a plectrum case or a case for several self-roll cigarettes. It was made by the Birmingham silversmith Horace Woodward over a hundred years ago

The condition of this case can only be described as good, with just; a small dink or two, some light surface scratches and a ‘CEV’ monogram in the cartouche. Great for anyone, but even better if they happen to be called Carl Eric Van Halen! Not a bad gift for a musician, especially considering it is nearly 110 years old!
