Item Details
This pretty coin purse was part of a small collection we recently rescued, principally because it retained the original silk lining, finger ring and attendant suspension chain.
Produced throughout the latter half of the 19th century and well into the 20th century, coin purses were essential for ladies attending social occasions, dances and balls. This coin purse is well manufactured and beautifully engraved to both halves.

Overall, the coin purse is well engineered, with all metalwork in robust health albeit some base metal peeking through in places adding to its charm.
The inner silk is complete but very fragile with some previous repairs. I am advised the existing interior could provide a suitable pattern. There is surface scratching and several dinks.
