Here we have the 'granddaddy' of all Goliath Pocket watch stands. Assayed in London in 1899, this is without doubt the largest overnight stand we have seen and is in our opinion probably an individually commissioned 'tour de force' from the famous William Comyns.
Incorporating a superb piece of silverwork, the frontispiece is complete with putti, the Green Man and the ubiquitous Comyns 'pierced panels', admired by so many other makers of the time.
